Exhibition Report
2025.09.03

From July 19 to August 24, the exhibition “Collecting a Sky – Threads Across Landscapes” was presented by U.S.–Japan Creative Artists Fellow Andrea Myers and her collaborator Mariko Kobayashi.
Earlier this year, Myers traveled to Japan to collaborate with Kobayashi on a project focused on endangered bird species from Yumeshima Island. The exhibition documented not only the process of their collaboration but also reflected on the history of the once-thriving textile industry in the Shiba district of Kawaguchi, Saitama, where the artists worked during production. Through their artwork, the two artists explored the versatile landscapes of nature, environment, and ecosystems.
“Harbingers: Beyond a Silent Spring,” a collaborative art piece that weaves connections between the environment and life, is currently exhibited in the VIP area of the USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
